The Prefecture of Serres belongs in Central Macedonia and extends from the Greek-Bulgarian border to the sea estuary of Strymonas River. Serres is a flat region since 48% of the total area is characterized as flat-semi mountainous. On the west you will see Kerkini, Vertiskos, and Kerdylion mountain ranges.
